This year we’re looking to put the magic back into Christmas. It was a very difficult time last year due to Covid-19 and the national lockdown but this year we’re celebrating like we’ve never celebrated before – safely of course.
Across all three homes we have put together an activity-filled December for all of our residents so we can really give back to our Red Homes family.
In 2020 we were very restricted with what we could do and this year we want our residents and staff to be able to enjoy the festive season. We’ve got professional singers like Melody Flyte performing at Red Rose and carol singers too in the middle of December. Red Court will be hosting their very own pantomime and will be celebrating Christmas Jumper Day by raising money for Save the Children UK. Red Roofs will be holding a number of festive crafting activities which will then be used to decorate the home followed by a Christmas raffle to raise money for their residents.
Christmas is a time for family and friends and although we consider ourselves as additional family members to our residents, we want to ensure they really get the Christmas they deserve this year. We’re delighted that family members will be able to spend time with their loved ones and that they can watch one another open gifts together. It will be quite an emotional time but it’s what we’ve been looking forward to. We will of course take all of the necessary steps to ensure we follow Public Health England’s guidance and visitors will be asked to show negative LFT/PCR results so we can remain Covid-free.
Every year we’ve always been extremely overwhelmed by the community’s generosity. In the past we’ve received gifts from Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, local schools and bakeries – everyone around us always shows us the true meaning of Christmas. Thank you for always spoiling us.
