Summer is well and truly here! While it is important to make sure that we are all staying hydrated and applying suncream regularly, we also enjoy a lot of summer activities at Red Roofs, Red Rose and Red Court.

Our residents love getting outside and we are fortunate to have some wonderful outdoor spaces across our care homes. We wanted to show you what all of our lovely staff and residents have been up to recently…
Red Court
Over at Red Court, the staff and residents haven’t stopped this summer. There’s been some lovely flower arrangement sessions going on, with residents showing their creative flair. The activity room smelt lovely too during this activity! There have been games of darts and bowling, which turned very competitive throughout. Entertainment has been provided from local singers too, with plenty of popular songs sung at Red Court.
The residents love these stimulating activities and entertainment and we are delighted to see them with such smiles on their faces and laughter in the air!

Red Roofs
Red Roofs residents have been hard at work! Whether it is crafts or baking, the residents created some fantastic treats for everyone to enjoy – either visually or by tasting them! The sunny garden area was in use for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, too, as residents sat outside and told stories from their lifetimes.

Excitingly, Red Roofs will be hosting a hosting its Summer Fair on Saturday 27th August from 10.30am. A small entry fee of £2.50 will be required, and attendees will receive a cream tea to say thank-you. All monies raised will go to the residents fund to provide entertainment and days out for them. We are also looking for any donations of the following items: wine bottles (both empty and full), cakes, raffle prizes and sweets – anything would be very much appreciated!
Red Rose
The wonderful Rose garden has been in use throughout the summer so far. On Wednesday 13th July, Red Rose hosted a special “Beach Day”, with relatives invited to join residents in the sunshine outside. Of course, there were chances to sit in the cool shade, and everyone tucked into fish and chips. An ice cream van even popped by too for dessert!
We have also been having celebrations a plenty: whether it has been the Queen’s Jubilee, or the fantastic achievements of our staff, it has been a great time at Red Rose over the summer.
