On Sunday 4th July, Lin Amos, general manager at Red Court Care Community in Grantham took part in a motorcycle ride organised by Robin Hood HD and NHS Ride of Thanks, Nottinghamshire.
Over 500 bikes took part in the event and roughly £5,000 has been raised so far for their three chosen charities – Notts Blood Bikes, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and NHS Charities Together.

Sunday’s Ride of Thanks was open to everyone with a valid provisional or full license. Hundreds of mopeds, scooters, cruisers, trikes and sports bikes joined the 60-mile round trip which was completed in 90 minutes.
The event departed from the Nottingham and Newark Showground at 11am and was marshalled throughout the route. The group embarked on their journey past Kings Mill, Notts City Hospital and Queen’s Medical Centre and rode back through crowds of supporters to return to Nottingham and Newark Showground.

Lin Amos, general manager at Red Court Care Community said:
“As soon as I saw this event advertised on Facebook, I knew I wanted to take part with my husband on our trike. Working in the care sector during this pandemic has been extremely challenging and it’s at events like these where we can come together safely and give back to our colleagues.
The NHS has been under immense pressure this last year and as we’re not out of the woods with Covid just yet, we’re doing everything we can to provide support to all NHS staff.
Our trike had an NHS flag attached to the back and we wore branded neck scarves in support of the cause. It was a fantastic route through Nottinghamshire, and it was an honour to be riding alongside fellow bikers wanting to help key workers.”
