We’ve been busy as ever throughout May at all three of our Red Homes Healthcare homes. Here is a round-up of everything that has been going on at Red Court Care Community, Red Rose Care Community and Red Roofs Residential Care Home.

Teddy’s 100th Birthday at Red Roofs – 4th May
We kicked May off with a very special 100th birthday! Teddy Hempstead, a WWII veteran, turned 100, and Red Roofs held a military-themed birthday party to celebrate. Prince Charles sent a letter of congratulations, along with a bottle of champagne and staff ensured Teddy felt suitably spoilt all day long. Happy Birthday Teddy!

Animals come to visit Red Court – 5th May
This isn’t one for the squeamish among you! DB Animal Therapy paid Red Court a visit, bringing a whole range of animals with them for the residents to meet. There were turtles, reptiles, rabbits at Red Court, as well as a snake! Residents loved the visit and we had a great time all-round.

VE Day Fun at Red Roofs – 9th May
VE Day was marked in great style at Red Roofs this year! With the sun shining down, residents ventured out into the picturesque gardens to enjoy the lovely weather. Residents listened to music from the 1940s, as well as telling stories about VE Day, and what it meant to them personally. There was even a VE Day quiz for everyone to get involved with!

International Nurses Day – 13th May
Friday 13th May marked International Nurses Day, and all three of our homes celebrated their fantastic nursing staff. Our residents came together to show just how much they appreciate their care givers, with lovely bundles of sweets and cards. Here are just some of the amazing staff at Red Rose with their gifts.

Bingo at Red Court – 19th May
It’s all fun and games at Red Court, this month, as they had a great session of bingo. Lots of residents got involved and showed great skill in the process during our games. Prizes included sweets, toiletries and more, with many of the prizes having been donated to the home – which we were incredibly thankful for. It means that our residents have an even better time playing bingo, when they win of course!

Red Rose have a sing-song! – 20th May
We were lucky to welcome a local church choir to Red Rose. The choir came into the home to sing some favourites for our residents, who had a great time, as you can see from the pictures! Singing and live performances are something that our residents really enjoy, and we thank all of our performers who regularly visit our homes to put a smile on the face of our lovely residents.

Red Rose send The Queen a Card – 30th May
With the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in early June, the residents at all three of our homes are looking forward to celebrating the Bank Holiday in style. At Red Rose, residents have written a card to Her Majesty the Queen, to celebrate her Jubilee. The cheeky message even asked her to save some cake for them!
