Christmas is a time of love, joy, and being together, and nowhere is this more important than in our care communities.
For our families at Red Roofs, Red Court and Red Rose, Christmas holds a special significance, providing opportunities to experience the warmth of the festive spirit, create lasting memories and forge connections.
With this in mind, we know it is important to celebrate the festive season with Christmas activities, such as gift exchanges, festive meals, and special events, which contribute to positive emotions.
We started our Christmas preparations back in November with Joan’s delicious mince pies at Red Court. By working together, and diligently following her guidance, our community was able to recreate this beloved dessert. The smell in the home was amazing and they were nearly as perfect as when Joan makes them herself! Our community cooks delicious treats for each other, and we are only too happy to help.
At Red Roofs and Red Rose, we love to immerse ourselves in the local community celebrations. This month we are taking part in the 15th Annual Christmas Tree Festival at our local St Mary Magdalene Church, in Newark. Our community has been busy making beautiful decorations to hang from our tree and it has been great to see them honing their creative talents. Experiencing this joy is a vital component of emotional well-being.
Our family also took a trip out to see their fantastic results, have a look at the variety of trees at the church, and write special Christmas messages.
The festivities did not stop there as our community at Red Roofs, Red Rose and Red Court have also been decorating our homes to create a Christmas wonderland, making baubles, Christmas trees, and even festive coasters!
In our homes, Christmas is not just a holiday; it is a celebration that brings our community together. This Christmas season plays an important role in creating a sense of belonging, promoting emotional well-being, stimulating mental faculties, encouraging social interaction, and enhancing the overall quality of life for everyone involved.
