This month we honoured those we cherish through our Remembrance Day activities and supported youngsters through our arts, crafts, parties, and fancy dress for Children in Need.
These are two events which deserve a lot of recognition for what they mean, and we were only too happy to take part.
Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day in the UK is always a special time for us, as we express our unending gratitude for those who gave their lives in service so that we could live ours in freedom.
Here at Red Homes, it is important that we mark the day with events and activities that highlight how grateful we are.
This is also a time for our community to share some of their memories of the past and the conflicts that they may have lived through.
Through our discussions, we can honour friends and family who we have lost.
Decorations were created by our community to show our appreciation for the sacrifices made for us. These included poppy arrangements that adorned our walls and windows; taking photos of poppies in our hands; beautiful drawings and a display showcasing our large collection of handmade poppies.
We also welcomed the Royal British Legion into our community to tell us about their work and the support they provide.
A two-minute silence was also held to honour those who gave their lives, and we would like to thank everyone for their service to this country.
We will never forget.
Children in Need
Another important event we marked this November was our Children in Need celebrations. At our homes, we love special visits from the young members of our families which give us so much joy.
Our community have taken part in arts and crafts activities, which have incorporated the Children in Need theme and coloured in our Pudsey Bear mascot. Our community also created Pudsey Bear headbands which they absolutely loved wearing. These were all created as our homes prepared for their Children in Need parties.
We live life to the full across all our homes and we will continue to fill up our calendar with an array of fun and educational activities and events that bring joy to our residents and staff.
