This year we have worked tirelessly to ensure our residents have remained loved, cared for and not felt any of the pandemic impacts of loneliness.
With this still very much front of mind, the Marmalade Trust’s campaign #LetsTalkLoneliness is being launched during Loneliness Awareness Week [14th – 18th June], due to the stress and anxiety the pandemic has caused.

After a year of lengthy lockdowns, social distancing and restrictions, these have inevitably impacted our residents as well as staff in some way.

Lin Amos, General Manager at Red Court Care Community said:
“We have always said that there’s no place for loneliness at Red Homes and this is still so true. We have been collectively working as a team to ensure that no one is feeling alone. The two-week isolation periods have been tough but as a team we’ve been providing support to each and every resident and to one another.
Our fantastic activities coordinators had to adapt their usual weekly activities to prevent the spread of Covid-19, but we did it, we got through it together and we’re still doing it now. We will do whatever we can to ensure loneliness does not occur at any of our homes.
At Red Court Care Community in Grantham, we have introduced a brand-new family visitors’ room for relatives and friends. Upon arrival, visitors will have to complete a rapid lateral flow test and if the test is negative, they will be allowed to enter the visitor’s room.
It has been a tremendously difficult time for us all, as Red Court is all about inclusivity, so we’ve had to quickly adapt to the necessary changes. Last year was completely different and we did not know what the year would bring, no one did. During the summer, we normally hold a number of exciting activities which create unforgettable memories, but we had to close our doors to visitors, and this was one of the hardest moments in my career.
Our new visitor’s room provides a safe space both for residents and their family members to spend quality time together. Since our opening, the room has been used by many of our residents and it’s an addition to our home that’s been needed for a while. I’m really pleased we have this brilliant facility.”

As a Group we need to help remove the stigma and shame around loneliness by talking openly about it.
Please do get in touch with us if you would like to know more about our range of activities, you can email us on enquiries@redhomes.com and a member of the team will come back to you within 48 hours.
