We have recently celebrated and reflected on an employee’s long service award at one of our care homes.
Pat Andrews has been working for Red Homes Healthcare for over 25 years and she’s been an incredible asset to the Red Court Care Community team. What a fantastic achievement and we feel it’s important to recognise such efforts and share this story with our Red Homes family.

Starting her career in care at just 25 years of age, Pat has worked as a laundry assistant, house keeper, cook and finally, assisting residents needs whenever and wherever she can. Pat has excelled in every single position at Red Homes. She’s now working in the housekeeping department at Red Court where she is responsible for the laundry of the resident’s clothing as well as providing a high standard of service to the home.
To kick off the celebrations, some of Pat’s colleagues came together one morning to present her with a bouquet of flowers and a number of gifts for her to enjoy at her leisure.
Lin Amos, general manager at Red Court Care Community said:
“We are delighted to be celebrating Pat’s incredible achievement. Pat has been an integral part of our team and we are extremely lucky that she’s chosen to stay with us for 25 years, this really is dedication and we’d be lost without her commitment.
We wanted to make Pat’s anniversary extremely special, so we surprised her in our reception area with a bouquet of flowers and there were a few tears shed. I’d personally like to thank Pat for her hard work and how she brings so much joy and energy to everything she does for Red Court. She really is a fantastic asset to the home, and I’m pleased I have the opportunity to continue working alongside her.”

Pat Andrews, laundry assistant at Red Court Care Community said:
“I cannot believe I’m celebrating 25 whole years in care. I have absolutely loved working in the care sector, I’ve seen and learned so much in my experience and I would like to thank Red Court for being such a warm and inclusive environment to work in. I love being a part of such a fun team!
Working through Covid has been very difficult but together we’ve managed as a team. The thing about working in care is that we’re together every day which makes our bond much stronger, but we cannot forget about both the happy and sad times we go through too. Knowing you’ve got a strong, caring team around you makes each day easier. It’s a career I’m glad I’ve chosen because no matter what role I’m doing, I am making a positive difference to someone’s life. I’m grateful I fell into care, and I’d like to thank everyone for their kindness and generosity, the gifts were beautiful.”
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Pat for all of her hard work over the years. The staff at Red Court have said they would be lost without her charisma, friendship, support and knowledge and cannot wait to work with her for many more years to come.
