I was born and schooled in Newark, attending Hawtonville, Sconce Hills and then Lilley and Stone Schools.
I was very fortunate to have worked in and lived around the first two care homes – Red Roofs Residential care home and Red Rose Nursing home – that my parents, Margaret (RGN) and Michael Daniel (LLB), built in 1985 and 1987 respectively.
I witnessed their passion to care for the older population, their hard work and dedication. I am grateful that they have passed so much invaluable knowledge to me. As a young boy I thoroughly enjoyed working in the care homes alongside my parents, building relationships, compassion and insight.
I qualified from the University of East Anglia in 1992 and went to study Law at the College of Law, in London. I then worked as a solicitor in London from 1996 to 2002. I then returned to Newark to raise my three children and work alongside my family to develop the care homes.
In 2004, Red Roofs and Red Rose were rebranded as Red Homes Healthcare Group. We then embarked on an expansion programme featuring the acquisition of Parklands Care Home (Newark), Red oaks Care Home (Mansfield) and Red Court Care Home (Grantham).
Healthcare is an incredibly exciting Industry. To witness first hand positive change to families through excellence in care continues to motivate.
Our aim is clear; we want to be an excellent, affordable care facility. We know that the build environment can have a positive effect on the mental well-being of Red Homes Healthcare Group clients and can reduce the challenges of clients with physical impairments. We are committed to person centred, relationship focused care. I am proud to be aligned with a talented, passionate pool of staff at Red Homes Healthcare. Together we will train for tomorrow’s needs, whilst striving to deliver excellent care today.
